Overview

Bydd y modiwl hwn yn gosod cynllunio ieithyddol yn ei gyd-destun rhyngwladol gan edrych ar wahanol enghreifftiau o gynllunio iaith mewn gwledydd amrywiol.

Bydd y modiwl yn cynnwys astudiaeth drylwyr o faes cynllunio ieithyddol yng Nghymru gan ganolbwyntio ar ddatblygiad cymdeithasol hanesyddol yr iaith Gymraeg, y system addysg, a datblygiad deddfwriaethol y Gymraeg, yn enwedig Deddf yr Iaith Gymraeg 1967, Deddf yr Iaith 1993 a Mesur y Gymraeg (Cymru) 2011.

Byddwn yn astudio cynlluniau iaith amrywiol, gan gynnwys Cynllun Iaith Prifysgol Bangor, yn ogystal â’r symudiad tuag at safonau’r Mesur Iaith.

Byddwn hefyd yn astudio'r ddadl ynglŷn â hawliau ieithyddol, yn enwedig hawliau siaradwyr ieithoedd lleiafrifol a grwpiau ieithyddol.

Bydd yr astudiaeth yn cynnwys astudiaeth o'r Gymraeg fel iaith i ddefnyddiwr, astudiaeth o faes siaradwyr y Gymraeg ac yn ogystal yn ffocysu ar drafod defnydd iaith mewn sfferau trosglwyddo ieithoedd lleiafrifol sef yr aelwyd, y gymuned, y system addysg a’r gweithle.

O fewn y modiwl hwn, mae'r pynciau canlynol yn bynciau posib a all ymddangos o blith pynciau eraill :

Cyflwyno cynllunio ieithyddol - diffinio a nodi pwrpas cynllunio ieithyddol a pholisi iaith

Dal dy dir - trafod rhai o'r brwydrau parhaus y mae ieithoedd lleiafrifol yn eu hwynebu e.e. shifft ieithyddol a marwolaeth iaith ynghyd a rhai datrysiadau posib

Deddfau a defnyddwyr - cynnig trosolwg o ddatblygiad deddfwriaethol y Gymraeg a sut mae'r datblygiadau hynny'n effeithio hawliau siaradwyr y Gymraeg (gan dynnu ar enghreifftiau o ieithoedd lleiafrifol eraill).

Trothwy (D- i D+) Er mwyn llwyddo ar y lefel hon, bydd y myfyriwr/aig yn gallu cyflawni'r canlynol yn foddhaol ym maes polisi a chynllunio ieithyddol: adolygu'r llenyddiaeth berthnasol, dadansoddi a gwerthuso polisïau, defnyddio cronfeydd data, trefnu ei amser, defnyddio'r we i ddarganfod gwybodaeth, defnyddio sgiliau ymchwil annibynnol

Da (C- i B+) Er mwyn llwyddo ar y lefel hon, bydd y myfyriwr/aig yn gallu cyflawni'r canlynol ym maes polisi a chynllunio ieithyddol: cynhyrchu adolygiad trylwyr o'r llenyddiaeth berthnasol; dadansoddi a gwerthuso polisïau; defnyddio cronfeydd data yn fedrus, trefnu ei amser yn effeithiol, defnyddio'r we yn eang i ddarganfod gwybodaeth, defnyddio sgiliau ymchwil annibynnol yn ddeheuig.

Rhagorol (A- i A+) Er mwyn llwyddo ar y lefel hon, bydd y myfyriwr/aig yn gallu cyflawni'n canlynol ym maes polisi a chynllunio ieithyddol : cynhyrchu adolygiad trylwyr a beirniadol o'r llenyddiaeth berthnasol; dadansoddi a gwerthuso polisïau; defnyddio cronfeydd data amrywiol yn ddewisol a medrus, trefnu ei amser yn effeithiol ac effeithlon, defnyddio'r we yn feirniadol er mwyn darganfod gwybodaeth werthfawr a pherthnasol, defnyddio sgiliau ymchwil annibynnol yn graff a beirniadol.

  • Cymhwyso theorïau ynglyn â hawliau unigolion a hawliau grwp i sefyllfaoedd cyfoes.

  • Dadansoddi'n feirniadol ddatblygiad polisïau iaith yn y sector gyhoeddus, breifat, a gwirfoddol.

  • Dadansoddi'n feirniadol wreiddiau cynllunio ieithyddol o fewn cyd-destun rhyngwladol

  • Defnyddio cysyniadau priodol i drafod cynllunio ieithyddol yn y Gymru gyfoes, gan eu dadansoddi'n feirniadol.

  • Y gallu i ddefnyddio amrywiaeth eang o ffynonellau meintiol ac ansoddol mewn dull beirniadol a dadansoddol i drafod sefyllfa'r Gymraeg yn y Gymru gyfoes.
