Marvel movies are extremely popular and can be considered as moral tales of the modern world, due to the conflict between good and evil in the films. In this conversation, Dr Gareth Evans-Jones (Philosophy, Ethics and Religion and co-director of the National Centre for Religious Education in Wales) will examine the films as moral tales considering moral principles through characters such as Deadpool and their relevance to cultural and philosophical discussions in our world today.

Join us to hear about one of the current Rural Wales LPIP research projects, which examines the function and value of cultural heritage in rural communities. This session will be an opportunity to learn, share experiences, and discuss how local culture shapes our everyday lives.

A talk by Dr Mari Wiliam, History, and Dr Rhian Hodges, Sociology, about the journey to establish Welsh schools in the north-east, with an opportunity for the audience to share stories and experiences of being pupils and teachers in some of these schools from the 1940s until today.
