Esgob Morgan School Students Celebrate Chinese New Year with Creative Workshop!
On 20th January 2025, Esgob Morgan School marked the Chinese New Year with a hands-on cultural workshop, offering students a unique opportunity to engage with traditional Chinese arts. Organised by the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Confucius Institute, the workshop introduced the students to the intricate craft of making Chinese knots using clay.
The event aimed to inspire creativity while promoting an understanding of Chinese culture. Under the guidance of skilled tutors, the students learned the significance of Chinese knots, symbolising unity, luck, and prosperity, and how to create their designs using colourful clay.
The workshop was a vibrant and interactive experience that fostered artistic skills and cultural awareness among the students. Feedback from teachers highlighted the workshop’s incredible impact:

This event is part of the ongoing collaboration between Esgob Morgan School and the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Confucius Institute. As one of the Institute’s official Confucius Classrooms, the school plays a vital role in the mission to bring the richness of Chinese language and culture to schools across the region.
Dr Lina Davitt, Director of ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Confucius Institute, emphasised the importance of art in cultural education, stating, "Workshops like these are a wonderful way for students to connect with a different culture and express their creativity. It is inspiring to see the enthusiasm and talent the students displayed in crafting their own unique clay Chinese knots."
